COROB at automatica 2025

From 24 to 27 June 2025, Munich became the epicenter of intelligent automation as automatica, Europe’s leading trade fair for robotics and smart automation, brought together innovators, investors, and industry leaders from across the globe.
At the heart of this vibrant ecosystem was the Start-up Arena, where emerging technologies met real-world opportunity. Among the voices shaping the conversation was COROB’s Project Coordinator, Iñaki Sainz, Lortek, who joined the expert panel discussion: “Beyond the Hype: Automation and Robotics for Flexible Manufacturing.”
From potential to practice
The robotics and automation sector is booming. Breakthrough start-ups are entering the market at speed, investor interest is rising, and flexible manufacturing is becoming a strategic priority for industry.
However, innovation alone is not enough. As highlighted during the panel, turning potential into practical solutions requires strong communication between start-ups, investors, researchers, and end users.
Sharing the stage with representatives from Advanced Algorithms 4 Radar SI, Metrology Lab LTD, and Cognivix, Iñaki Sainz contributed insights on how collaborative robotics and intelligent automation solutions can help bridge the gap between research excellence and industrial implementation. The discussion addressed key topics such as scalability, interoperability, and the development of adaptable systems capable of supporting flexible manufacturing environments.
The Start-up Arena as an Innovation Ecosystem
The Start-up Arena provided an ideal platform for these exchanges. Its open design and central stage for pitches, keynotes, and expert panels encouraged interaction between innovative newcomers, established industry players, and financial enablers including analysts, venture capitalists, and asset managers.
The programme structure further strengthened this ecosystem:
- 24 June: Industrial automation and robotics
- 25 June: Photonics and investment
- 26 June: Smart manufacturing
- 27 June: Digital innovation
This focused agenda created space for dialogue, networking, and the exploration of cooperative ventures.
Strengthening Collaboration for Flexible Manufacturing
By participating in the Start-up Arena, COROB reinforced its commitment to advancing collaborative robotics solutions that respond to real industrial needs. The panel discussion confirmed that flexible manufacturing depends not only on technological innovation but also on cooperation across the entire value chain.
automatica 2025 once again demonstrated that the future of automation is shaped through collaboration, open exchange, and shared ambition. COROB was proud to contribute to this forward-looking dialogue in Munich.
