SUMMARY:Exploring Early-Adopter Opportunities with COROB Multi-Robot Cells: Online Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an online workshop where we will present how cooperative multi-robot systems\, AI\, monitoring\, inspection\, and advanced control technologies can transform arc welding-based manufacturing processes. \nThe COROB project is developing flexible\, cooperative\, and intelligent multi-robotic solutions for arc welding-based manufacturing processes\, including joining and additive manufacturing. \nThis online workshop will introduce COROB’s technological approach and present its two main use cases: multi-robot cooperative welding and tooling repair using Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing. Participants will learn how COROB combines cooperative robotics\, inspection\, monitoring\, control\, and AI techniques to support more efficient\, flexible\, and resource-conscious industrial processes. \nThe workshop will also create an opportunity for potential external end users and early adopters to explore how their industrial needs and application scenarios could contribute to the validation of COROB’s multi-robot cells in real manufacturing contexts. \nInterested organisations will be invited to share potential demonstration scenarios following the workshop. Selected scenarios may then be considered for implementation in the COROB multi-robot cells\, supporting the quantitative validation of the project’s value propositions in real industrial environments. \nThis session is particularly relevant for manufacturers\, industrial end users\, technology providers\, and innovation stakeholders active in welding\, tooling\, repair\, additive manufacturing\, robotics\, and flexible production. \nWhat will be presented?\nThe workshop will introduce two key COROB use cases: \nMulti-robot cooperative welding\nThis use case focuses on jigless robotic welding\, where multiple robots work together without traditional tools or fixtures. Two manipulator robots hold and position the workpieces\, while a third robot performs the welding process. This approach enables more flexible and efficient manufacturing. \nMulti-robot cell for tooling repair using WAAM\nThis use case explores the use of Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing for tooling repair. A main robot equipped with a WAAM welding head\, combined with a rotary table\, will repair complex geometries. An auxiliary robot conducts supporting tasks such digital identification of defects and 3D scanning \nWhy attend?\nThis workshop is an opportunity to discover how COROB is developing cooperative multi-robot technologies to support smarter\, more flexible\, and more resource-efficient manufacturing. \nParticipants will gain insight into COROB’s technological approach\, its two main industrial use cases\, and the potential of multi-robot cells for real manufacturing scenarios. DESCRIPTION:The European Convergence Summit (ECS) 2024 will be organised by the Adra-e project on 19 June 2024. COROB will join the event with a dedicated Virtual Booth\, showcasing its obectjives\, application areas as Open Call opportunities. \nThe event will be held online. To access the event please register here and you will get the link to join the event in the upcoming weeks. \nThe ECS is a high-level event that aims to bring together influential figures from various backgrounds to support co-programming of the Artificial Intelligence Data and Robotics (ADR) partnership\, define orientations for ADR research and innovation in Europe with respect to socioeconomic issues\, and build a consensus among stakeholders. The overarching theme of the event will be the impact of ADR on energy/CO2 reduction. \n
